Focus and Scope

Indonesian Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is a peer-reviewed open access journal focusing on the science and practice of physical medicine and rehabilitation, human functioning, disability, and restorative care.

The journal publishes original research articles, systematic or narrative reviews, and case reports that address, but are not limited to:

  • neurorehabilitation
  • musculoskeletal rehabilitation
  • pain medicine
  • pediatric rehabilitation
  • cardiopulmonary rehabilitation
  • electrodiagnostic medicine
  • assistive technology and orthotics–prosthetics
  • occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and speech therapy
  • rehabilitation outcomes and functional assessment based on ICF

The journal aims to advance evidence-based practice and promote international collaboration in rehabilitation science.

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to Indonesian Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process.

  1. Initial Screening
    The editorial board evaluates the manuscript for scope, originality, completeness, and ethical compliance.
  2. Double-Blind Peer Review
    At least two independent reviewers evaluate the scientific quality, methodology, and relevance of the manuscript.
  3. Revision Process
    Authors may be asked to revise the manuscript based on reviewer comments.
  4. Final Decision
    The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision (acceptance, revision, or rejection).
  5. Copyediting and Proofreading
    Accepted manuscripts undergo language editing, formatting, and final approval before publication.

The average review period is 4–6 weeks.

Publication Frequency

Indonesian Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is published twice a year, in June and December (issue-based publication).

Open Access Policy

Indonesian Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation provides immediate open access to all published content. All articles are freely available without embargo and are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), allowing users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, as long as proper attribution is given to the authors.

Copyright Policy

Authors retain full copyright over their works. Upon publication, authors grant Indonesian Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation a non-exclusive license to publish and distribute the article.
The license applied to all published content is CC BY 4.0, which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original author is credited.

Article Processing Charge (APC)
The Indonesian Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation does not charge any submission fees. However, an Article Processing Charge (APC) of IDR 750,000 is applied only to manuscripts that are accepted for publication. The APC covers editorial management, copyediting, typesetting, and online hosting. At this time, the journal does not offer APC waivers.

Archiving

The journal preserves all published content through:

  • Regular server backups

  • LOCKSS-based distributed archiving mechanisms

Plagiarism Check

All submitted manuscripts are screened using TURNITIN plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with similarity above 20% (excluding references and quotes) may be returned to authors for revision or rejected. Self-plagiarism and duplicate publication are not permitted.

Subscription (Hardcopy Only)

The online version of the journal is free and open access.
Printed copies (hardcopy issues) may be ordered through the subscription form (download link provided).
All payments are made via bank transfer.
